the first day of school was alright. it was minimum day and all ,so my teachers didn't really have time to assign any real homework - they saved that stuff for the next day, unfortunately. finally, i saw angela and cindy after what seemed to be the bulk of the summer! i didn't really get to see all the people i wanted, but i have the rest of the year for that...well, maybe not. books are really heavy.
the first real full day...as i recall, i slept past my alarm 20 minutes. between you and me, i just woke up ,got dressed, and hopped onto the mom-mobile. i was a mess that day. i sat wide eyed, glossy eyed in calc ,which I continued into english, but ms. arias called on me....i still remember.."the cones fell light as a feather" ...the author is saying that the cones fell....uhhh....as ....light...as ...a ...feather....
shit. i'm really horrible at articulating my thoughts, especially if i didn't do the assignment correctly. go me. so today, all the teachers brought out the big guns. homework is still homework in calc. english we had avenues into the text. which doing it is a bitch and a half. bio....holy crap our study guide comprises of 52 terms, 7 short answers, and 4 essays. all covering an astounding 6 chapters. history...more study guides. intense note session very similar to puzo's. french is easy. I LOVE monsieur de shan. and o'shields gave us our first assignment. 20 pages of sketch + 1 project. whoop-dee-freaking-doo. and src is by far the dumbest class i've ever taken in my life. there's a fine line between easy and just being a complete waste of my time. it doesn't help that it's on the other side of campus, behind the band room and all. not cool.
wednesday, thursday were pretty much blurs and not very significant.
oh, except for one thing. katherine and i went to the new club meeting ,and we filled out a new form for amnesty international. hopefully this will pull through!
friday - first quiz in collins. it was pretty easy, but you never know. why can't he just ask those nit-picky questions back in freshman year?! actually, it was pretty nit-picky. i wish i finished the quiz with a better feeling. the more i talk to people about it, the worst i think i did. but it's one of the 11 or so quizzes we'll be having over the course of 6 weeks. so that means this is the only quiz i'll give myself leeway on.
my weekend is going to be dedicated to
- finishing the study guide for bio
- finishing the study guides for history
- finishing the catcher in the rye questions for english
- math homework
- get some sketch in! i have an idea for my major project...
so it wasn't really in a nut shell after all..
