bigger, better, wetter

day 2 of the downey metro champs was great.
50 free - i added about a second. but considering my performance in the past few months, it's not that bad ,so i'm happy. i've done alot worst in the last couple of meets to complain.

100 fly - i haven't swam this one in a year. in fact, the last time i swam this was at this exact meet. surprisingly, i dropped 6 seconds in this. amaaaaaazing. the only thing that i dropped in since january. pretty good. next season, i'm going to train to be a flyer ,so that at the 75 mark, i don't look like a 5 year old just learning how to swim. good race overall. i had to swim next to denise, who was seeded 10 seconds faster than me. it pretty much scared me shitless ,but it wasn't as bad as i thought. i mean, i swam next to tanya in the 100 breast. i was just trying to go for a best time. she was trying to make sectionals. you can just imagine how that looked.

200 im - fly felt good. back was same. breast was blahhhhhhhhhhh. my breast(stroke) needs to be revived if i want to go anywhere with my im. i was pretty much on my time, so not bad.

i swam the backstroke leg. i kept us in the game. diana swam the breast. she slipped a bit, but then we had lisa up next with her speedygonzalez fly. sadly, the girl next to us accidentally took a free style pull and got her team dqed. i felt really sad for her. never have i witnessed someone bawl that much over a race. she's really nice too... it's these types of moments where you get that lumpy feeling in your throat... anyways, denise anchored with a great freestyle and finished the meet off with first! ...out of one. haha. I GOT A PIN!!!! AND I DIDN'T HAVE TO STEAL IT!!!

pineapple express ...then uhhhhhh the mummy ?!
diana was supposed to go with us. we were supposed to see pineapple express. we were supposed to sneak out of the mummy. i guess things just don't turn out the way we want them to. poor diana. i can't believe your mom pulled that off. hang in there.

the mummy was superficially entertaining. what was better was the mexican food joint. it advertised its burritos as "super burritos" that were BIGGER ,BETTER, WETTER.
and it had a picture of a burrito drenched in cheese and what appeared as grease.
yum.

a great conclusion to a crappy season.
denise isn't leaving. i am relieved.
